Experts Warn: Don’t Keep Your Phone In Your Pocket
14th March 2018
Did you know that the manufacturers of mobile phones state that you should keep the devices away from your body at all times? That includes keeping a phone in your pocket!
The recommended distances vary between manufacturers, but they are generally between 5mm and 25mm. The reason? It is because it was at this distance the SAR rating (Significant Absorption Rate e.g. how much radiation your brain absorbs from the phone) was tested and deemed safe.
Even when you aren’t using your phone, it is still working hard to get a signal, and still pumping out potentially harmful radiation. This is why, even in a pocket, a phone could be affecting your family’s health.
Yep, you guessed it. Men who walk around with a phone in their pocket are increasing their risk of infertility. During a study, when exposed, sperm count was seen to be reduced, it moved more slowly, and had less vigour. In fact, the DNA damage caused was regarded as significant enough to be potentially harmful to the health and wellbeing of any children that were then conceived!
Kids Are At More Risk Than Adults
It has been shown that children absorb radiation from mobile phones further into their body. This is not only because they are smaller, but also because developing bone and tissue behaves differently to that of an adults. One report states that for children, the average RF energy deposition is two times higher in the brain and 10 times higher in the bone marrow than it is for adults. We are also entering a stage where the first generation to use mobile phones since childhood – therefore have had far more exposure over their lifetime – are becoming adults.
To further reduce your risk of exposure to potentially harmful radiation, fit an R2L radiation reducer to all the mobile devices in your home, especially those used by children. This small device can reduce the excess radiation by as much as 70%. You can also reduce your risk by following these simple tips.
